Be Weak & Fight

Dear Journal,

Having stepped away from the Lord for a month or so, I have been returning to "my homeland."
I was thinking, "Well, in Him or not with Him, I'm still figuring out that I'm nothing without Him. Either way, He's still in charge and I'm still the One in need of help."

Christ said, "My power works best in weakness."

Straight up.

So what that's saying is that it's ok to be weak. In fact, it's encouraging because when you're weak is when His power is more apt to be seen. That's kind of neat because I've alway thought that being weak was unacceptable. And I feel that a lot of people feel that way too. But it's so cool because just because the majority of a people think that way, it doesn't mean that it turn into a truth. The masses don't rule and I'm so glad because Jesus brought some crazy and mind-boggling  news when He was here. The masses didn't agree with Him yet He stayed the course.

Fight the good fight.

In the dumps

The Lord's will.

It's not always fabulous & you're not always on cloud nine. Yet, that doesn't mean you're not in the Lord's will. Of course, what I'm writing is not a standard. Everyone's life is different. But right now I'm talking about me, because I own my copyright :)

Dad told me, "You know sometimes the Lord's will makes you cry."

Ain't that the truth.

He said, "Just ask Jesus." Jesus wept on his journey to fulfill the Father's will. That doesn't mean that Jesus regretted being on that path. At all costs, He was going to do what He was sent to do.

It's just an interesting, but true, way to look at the will of God. It's not always going to be roses and frolicking.

You can be separated from the ones you love, you can be broke, you might just have had an accident... yet if you put everything in the hands of the Lord, you're right where you need to be.

Re-thinking

This might sound cliche but, God has perfect timing. You don't really say this until you're in that moment when you realize that this is true. So I have a right to say it now with the fullest meaning possible :)

"...my suitcase lies open on the floor, ready to be filled for a trip... My mind is full of the little things that I don't want to forget, all the errands that need to happen between now and my departure day, and how I can best organize my limited packing space.

But when I set my thoughts upon where I am going, why I am going, and with Whom, my heart switches to a new focus of preparation. I know that the one thing needed for those I am going to visit is Jesus; not an organized, stylish, well-prepared visitor, but a soul-surrendered, prayed-up, given life that is ready to be a vessel fit for His use and spent for His glory."

I stumble upon the reading above out of NOWHERE when I'm out of town on my own for the first time ever. It's for my job... but still, I'm reminded of my whole purpose here (and when I mean here, I mean on Earth).

Challenge yourself to "re-think" life! How does God want you to think? Have an open, eternal-perspective, joyful mindset!

To trust is to let go.

"Explore, Dream, Discover"

I've spent about 2 hours looking for an amazing quote.
Found some that made my bulb light, others that were really weird, some that just had me go "eh", and some that made me say, "Oh heck no." It's kind of silly that people are famous for quotes that only re-word what Jesus said ages ago.
I copied and pasted about 20 of the ones that I liked on a Word doc to save. I was mainly looking for inspirational ones that other people could read too.

”Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.” - Will Rogers

“Don’t go through life, grow through life.” - Eric Butterworth

“Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” - John Wooden

“Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.” - Dennis P. Kimbro

I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination. Jimmy Dean

“Let me embrace thee, sour adversity, for wise men say it is the wisest course.” — William Shakespeare

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which has the potential to turn a life around.” — Leo Buscaglia

I don't know most of the people behind these quotes but these are a few that stuck out. My crafty goal is to frame a quote and fancy it up for my office space! Some of my materials are:
